We have spent the last two weeks walking through the new East Texas Security Training Academy one piece at a time. This is the short version, for anyone who landed here first.
You can enroll and start immediately
Every class has its own page, with its price printed on it, and a button that enrolls you. Online courses unlock the moment your order goes through, not the next business day, not when someone reads an email. The old version of this site could tell you what we taught and then asked you to get in touch; the new one just sells you the class.
Every class date is published
Our in-person sessions sit on a live calendar with real dates, real times and the range address: East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club, 1045 Farm to Market Road 2011, Longview, Texas. Open dates for the LTC shooting qualification and for Level 3 Part 2 are all listed there, with start and finish times on each one.
No more "contact us for upcoming dates."
The whole lineup, priced
- Texas Level 2 Security Class: $29.99, online, the state-required starting point
- Texas Level 3 Security Class: $99.99 for Part 1 online, $149.99 for the in-person Part 2
- Texas Armed Security Recertification: $39.99 online plus a $60 range day
- LTC Shooting Qualification: $50, open dates on the calendar
- Texas Level 4 Personal Protection Officer: $250, in person
- OC (Pepper Spray) Certification: $29.99 online plus a $9.99 in-person practical
- Six NRA courses, from Basic Pistol through Range Safety Officer
There is now a bundle
The Security Career Fastrack puts six courses into one enrollment for $500 instead of $569.95 separately: Level 2, Level 3 (both parts), OC (both parts) and Level 4. Three online courses unlock immediately; all the hands-on training happens in a single three-day session instead of three separate trips.
And a partner program
For instructors, guard companies, recruiters and schools: our affiliate partner program pays 75% of the course fee, instantly, with no cost to join and no volume targets. We teach, assess and certify; partners sell. No DPS credential of your own required.
What has not changed
The school. DPS-approved, same instructor, same certificates issued under the same school license number. We did not touch the training. We fixed everything around it that used to make getting trained harder than it needed to be.
The three things worth doing today
If you need a license: open the Classes page, find your level, and enroll. Level 2 at $29.99 is where almost everyone starts, and you can finish it tonight.
If you need a date: open the calendar and book it. LTC shooting qualifications, Level 3 Part 2, OC Part 2 and Armed Recertification Part 2 all have published dates with the range address attached.
If you have an audience: look at the partner program. 75%, instant, free to join.
What is coming next
We are continuing to add scheduled dates for the remaining in-person classes, including the six NRA courses. If the class you want does not yet show a date, ask. Demand is what gets one set.
Thanks for reading along
Two weeks of posts about a website is more than any school should need, and we will be back to writing about training shortly. But the enrollment and scheduling problems we just fixed were the ones genuinely stopping people from getting licensed, and that seemed worth saying out loud.
The step that used to take three days now takes about thirty seconds.
