Something has changed at East Texas Security Training Academy, and if you have tried to sign up for a class with us before, you are going to notice it immediately.
The new etxsta.com is live.
What is actually different
Our old site was a brochure. It told you what we taught, and then it asked you to get in touch. If you wanted a Level 2 class, you sent a message and waited for a human being to answer, send you a price, and tell you when the next session was. That human being was usually me, and if I was on a range or in a classroom, you waited.
The new site does not work that way. Every class we teach now has its own page, its own price printed in plain numbers, and a button that enrolls you. Pay for an online course and your material unlocks in your account the moment the order goes through. Not the next business day. Not when somebody gets to their email. Immediately.
That one change fixes the single biggest complaint we have ever had, which was never about the training. It was about how hard it used to be to buy it.
Everything in one place
The new site carries our whole lineup on a single page:
- Texas Level 2 Security Class — the state-required starting point for any security career in Texas
- Texas Level 3 Security Class — what you need for an armed Security Officer Commission
- Texas Level 4 Personal Protection Officer Class — the bodyguard credential
- OC (Pepper Spray) Certification
- Armed Security Recertification
- License to Carry, including our own LTC shooting qualification
- Six NRA courses, from Basic Pistol through Range Safety Officer
Every one of them is listed with a real price. No “call for pricing.”
Real dates, not “coming soon”
The other thing the old site could never do was tell you when a class ran. Our in-person sessions now sit on a live calendar on the site, with dates, start and finish times, and the address of the range. You can look at it right now and see exactly which Sunday your Level 3 range day falls on.
Still the same school
The website is new. Nothing about the training is. ETXSTA is still Texas DPS-approved, still taught by the same instructor, and still issues its own certificates under its own school license number. What we changed is the part that had nothing to do with teaching.
A note on the things we did not change
It would be easy to read a website relaunch as a rebrand, so to be clear about what stayed put: the course material is the same DPS-approved curriculum, the certificates come from the same school licence, and the person teaching is the same person who was teaching last month. We did not reposition the academy or chase a new market.
What we rebuilt was the machinery around the training — enrollment, payment, scheduling, course access, certificates. Those were the parts that generated every complaint we have ever had, and none of them had anything to do with the quality of instruction.
Where to start
If you are new to security work in Texas, start with Level 2 — it is the state-required first step and it costs $29.99. If you already hold a licence and need to renew, go to Armed Security Recertification. If you want the full credential set, look at the Security Career Fastrack before you buy anything individually. And if you just want your License to Carry finished, our shooting qualification has dates every week.
Have a look around. If you have been putting off getting licensed because signing up felt like a chore, that excuse is gone.
