Since we opened our affiliate partner program, the question we get most is some version of “am I the sort of person this is for?”

Here is the honest answer, including the cases where it is not.

It is a strong fit if you are a firearms instructor

You already teach License to Carry, defensive pistol, or NRA courses. Your students routinely ask about getting into security work, and right now you either shrug or send them to Google. Sending them to a course you earn 75% on is a better answer for both of you, and it costs you nothing to set up.

It is a strong fit if you run a guard company

You need licensed officers. Candidates show up uncertified and you lose them to the gap between “interested” and “licensed.” Pointing them at a $29.99 online Level 2 they can finish tonight shortens your hiring pipeline, and you earn on the training you were already telling them to go get.

It is a strong fit if you recruit, train or run a job board

Anyone whose business involves moving people into employment has a steady supply of candidates who need a certification first. That is the whole model.

It is a strong fit if you are a training school without this course

A lot of schools teach one thing well and field constant questions about the rest. You do not need to build a Texas security program, get a school license, or write curriculum to serve those inquiries. We teach, assess and certify under our own school license, so you are selling the class, not delivering it, so no DPS credential of your own is required.

It is probably not for you if…

You are hoping for passive income with no audience. The program pays well because the referral does real work. If you have no network of people who need a Texas security certification, a link will not create one.

You want to run the classroom. Affiliates sell; ETXSTA teaches. If your ambition is to deliver the instruction yourself, this is the wrong arrangement and you should be looking at getting your own school approval.

You are a student looking for a discount. The commission is for partners bringing enrollments, not a self-serve coupon.

What the arrangement asks of you

Very little, which is the point, but not nothing.

You are responsible for the referral itself and for representing the training accurately. If you tell a student that Level 2 makes them an armed officer, you have created a problem for them and for us; Level 2 is unarmed, Level 3 is the armed commission. Partners who get the basics right do better anyway, because their referrals convert.

You also absorb refunds and chargebacks on your own sales. That is the flip side of keeping 75% rather than a referral fee. The economics are a partner’s, not an introducer’s.

What we handle

Instruction, assessment, certificates, course support and the DPS-facing side of the training. The class remains ours and runs under our school license, so students get the same course and the same certificate whoever referred them.

If you are still unsure

The cost of being wrong is zero. There is no joining fee and no commitment, so an application that turns out not to suit your business has cost you a couple of minutes. That is deliberate, because we would rather people try it than agonise over it.

The application is on our partner page, and a person reads every one.
