The order you take them in

The path builds on itself, and each step has to come after the one before it:

1. Level II — the entry point for working as a security officer in Texas. Self-paced online.
2. Level III Pt 1 — the classroom half of the commissioned officer course. Self-paced online.
3. Level III Pt 2 — the range day. You shoot, qualify, and finish the commissioned course in person.
4. OC Pt 1 — pepper spray classroom, online.
5. OC Pt 2 — the short in-person practical. You are not required to be sprayed.
6. Level IV PPO — the personal protection officer course, in person.

You can take the OC courses at any point once you have started; they do not gate anything else. The Level III range day cannot happen until Pt 1 is finished, and Level IV comes last.

How the scheduling works

You pay once now. You book your in-person dates later, separately, as you get to them.

We deliberately do not make you pick range dates at checkout. The online courses are self-paced, and nobody knows in advance how fast they will work through them. Choosing a Level III range day before you have started Pt 1 just means rescheduling later.

So your online courses open immediately, and when you are ready for each in-person session you pick a date from our calendar for that class. Your seat is already paid for as part of the Fastrack.

Common questions

How long does the whole thing take?
That is up to you. The online portions are self-paced, and the in-person sessions run on our published calendar. Students who move steadily can finish inside a couple of months; there is no deadline pushing you.

Do I have to take them in this order?
Level III Pt 1 must come before the Pt 2 range day, and Level IV comes last. The OC courses can slot in wherever suits you.

What if I already have my Level II?
Then the Fastrack is not the best value for you. Buy the remaining courses individually instead, and talk to us if you are not sure which you still need.

What do I need to bring to the range day?
Each in-person class page lists its own requirements. For the Level III range day, plan on a handgun, ammunition, and eye and ear protection.

How long do I have to finish?
Your online course access runs for six months from purchase.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
No. You get instant access to the paid online material on purchase, so the courses are non-refundable. In-person sessions can be rescheduled, provided you tell us at least 24 hours before the class.
