Course details

• Format: Classroom and live fire, including the shooting qualification
• Prerequisite: Our NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course. We require it before CCW so that every student arrives with the same safe-handling foundation
• Assessment: NRA CCW student examination
• Schedule: Can run as a single day or across several sessions

Common questions

Is this the same as a Texas License to Carry class?
No. This is NRA training in the skills of carrying concealed. The Texas LTC is a separate, state-regulated course with its own requirements — we run that too.

Do I need a holster?
Bring the holster and belt you actually intend to carry with. Drawing from concealment is part of the course, and gear you will not use teaches you little.

Is the shooting qualification required?
Yes, on our courses. The NRA treats it as optional; we do not. Carrying concealed is a live-fire skill, and we want every student who leaves with our certificate to have demonstrated it on the range.

Do I really need Basic Pistol first?
Yes. That is our policy, not an NRA rule — drawing from concealment is not the place to be learning fundamentals.
